Every RICE basket is crafted by hand from Raffia, a natural fiber that exhibits unique color variations—both in its raw state and after dyeing. This means some baskets will have lighter tones, while others appear more vibrant. No two baskets are ever exactly alike, and slight differences in shape are a charming hallmark of handcrafted products. If you order several baskets together, we will do our best to match their hue and form as closely as possible, though we are unable to provide images of each individual variation.

About the material: Raffia fibers are an exceptional natural material sourced from palm leaves. Our raffia is grown in Madagascar, and every piece is made with care in two mountain villages, where this craftsmanship supports improved resources and livelihoods for over 300 families on the Red Island. As both raffia and handcrafting introduce natural variations, each basket will differ slightly in color, shape, and size. Please note: prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause colors to fade. Keep away from water to avoid color transfer.
